Tinkering bug hit me.... burned through 1,000
rounds of 17 HH with 20 gr HP this spring on grd squirrels. Thinking of trying some 30 gr bullets and using on rockchucks and maybe a Yote...
Anyone done any playing with 30 s and if so what powder, velocities and accuracy have you gotten? Rifle is 24" Ruger 77/17 with 9 twist; hopefully enough to stabilize bullet. I ve used AA1680 with 20 s and 25 s but have a pound of H4198 that would most likely be better with 30 grainers.
Would appreciate hearing anyone's experiences, thoughts, etc
