The old saying 'better lucky than good" kinda happened for me today. The range I am a member at was hosting a shooting event sponsered by DPMS, SCI, Nosler and Dakota Arms today. I had forgotten about it and was only there to check some loads with the 6BR. The Nosler rep was a great guy named Tim Paczkowski that was fun to chat with. He had a couple model 48's there for people to check out and shoot (22-250 and a 308). The Dakota Arms rep was a great guy and very knowledgable on many levels of shooting and hunting. Quite a few people rolled through the benches over the course of 4 hours that I was there.

FWIW, the Dakota Arms rep said that Remington is leaving them alone, so they can turn out high quality rifles and have been great to give them the resources they need to come back strong in the market place.

A nice rack...of rifles (various models of Dakota rifles)

Joel,

What a day at the range!
Those are some nice shooting sticks.

Wow, you lucky son of a gun! Man, you scored some cool stuff right there buddy! Very cool.

Those Dakota's are some very nice rifles. I haven't seen many I wouldn't like to have.

That was a fun day, for sure, and you scored some fine stuff. I must admit that when I saw your notation, "Pulled trigger," I thought, "Well, duh!"

Mike -
This darn 2 oz trigger still goes off when I'm not ready half the time :x . The crazy thing is squeezing a 3 lb trigger after shooting this thing! You start wondering if it is ever going to break.

How well I know. Joel, you did very well. The occasional flier detracts from our peace, but does nothing to detract from our ability.

Nice, man! Did the wind die down? If you shot those groups in 30MPH winds....

I like the banner. I may have to see if I can talk the guys at the factory out of one when I head over that way later this week. I really dig the digi-camo hat... But I've kinda been going crazy with buying hats from fly fishing shops lately, kinda hard to justify another.

Kurt -
It was windy all afternoon from when we talked. I just tried to shoot in between gusts. This was with the 107 grain SMK at 100-200 yards, so it didn't require any dialing.

Hope you made it back to Oregon...I would have found a way to spend a few more days by that beautiful lake!

Gee.... like Christmas at the range...! Those groups look great! I imagine that rifle turned some heads. Do you still have both of your kidneys....? CL
