Getting There!!!!

I was being conservative.

I figured you were making your point...I just thought I'd throw it out there for everybody else.

Its not all that different from the 26 Nosler... And some folks are claiming 2500 rounds of acceptable accuracy with those.

And I agree 100% with what you said about rounds fired in a year...I went through 167 rounds breaking in and finding a load for my Nosler rifle... With that behind me, I doubt it'll see more than 25 rounds per year for the rest of my life.... I'm 43, its a 280 Ackley... It might have 1500 rounds on it when they bury it with me.

So far I've only worn out barrels on my .308 Win - and that was with lots of target work, very few hunting rounds through it over the years. Typically got 5,000 - 6,000 rounds of X-ring capable accuracy out of those barrels. But the mild little .308 is kind on barrels...

Looking forward to seeing the results from your new hot-rod Fotis!

I've only shot one barrel out but it was a used 30-06 and I have no idea how many rounds went down the tube but it was a lot because I used it to shoot everything and was the only center fire rifle I owned. It now wears a .257 Roberts barrel .

Can you just resize 300 Wea Mag brass and neck down to 6.5?

You can if you neck turn afterwards.
