Go to bullet and load for 325 WSM?

My brother in law bought a 325 WSM last year. He now has sufficient brass and the dies to start reloading for it. He is looking at a 200 gr. bullet.

What grain bullet/powder combo have you all had success with? Any and all input is welcome!

I have had good success with 220 grain Swift A-Frames and H100V. Another good load for me has been 200 grain Barnes TSX and N560. My "go to" load, however, is 200 grain Partitions and 64 grains of Big Game. It gives good velocity and exceptional accuracy (0.3 inches at 100 yards). This load has taken multiple moose and elk; it seems to work quite well on these big critters.

Just perusing some older data and noted that I had good success with 200 grain Partition and 64.5 grain H4350 before switching to Big Game. I also had an excellent load built with 200 grain A-Frames and W760 (0.60 inch groups), but never really followed it as Swift bullets were difficult to secure at the time. I may go back and review this particular load more carefully.

All the loads I listed were MOA or better in my Model 70. Actually, on a good day, each of the loads is sub-MOA. My "go to" load is consistently accurate and has never failed to issue an invitation that cannot be refused.

I load for a friend of mine and what I use for him is real close to Fotis' and Mikes load.

200 gr. Nosler AccuBond - 65.5 grs. of IMR4350

200 gr. Nosler Partition - 64.5 grs. of IMR4350

They both shoot really well in his rifle and shoot to almost the exact same point of impact. With a 2.5 inch high zero with one, the other is 1.5 inches high at 100.

My Savage 16 really likes the Nosler 200 gr AccuBond over 64.7 gr of RL-17, CCI 250, Win Brass, 0.020 jump, 2.87 OAL, 2900 fps, ES 7, SD 4, 0.457 three shot groups at 100 yards. I have some 200 gr Nosler Partitions that I have not shot yet but expect they will do just as well.

My Kimber has shown quite the affinity toward the 200 grain AccuBond. Seems to really like Ramshot Big Game for about 2900 fps. IMR 4007 ssc and Reloader 17 really show promise too. Good luck.

Still holding out for a nice 220 grain AccuBond or similar though. Should would like to try them.
