I just added a sake A7 in 300 WSM to the safe. Any thoughts on the most efficient powder with 165 AB.

H 4350 is a good one, I had pretty good results with RL 15 of all things with 165's in the 300 WSM I used to have. Around 60 gr gave 3050 fps in a 23" barrel with good accuracy and low recoil. Nosler still lists that load, RL 15 worked well with 150's as well.

Gerry is correct that with 165/168 grain bullets, RL15 is a fine powder. I've also used with excellent results H380, Big Game, IMR 8208 XBR, IMR 4350 and IMR4831.

IMR-4350 has been the powder of choice with 165 and 168 gr bullets in my 300 WSM. I also had good results with a 180 gr Sierra Gameking using RL-22.

...for me best accuracy/ MV combination in 3 different .300 WSM's has been a near max load of RL-17 behind the 165's & 180's, very close to .300 WM MV's w/ a lot less powder/ felt recoil...

After working up loads in six different rifles chambered for the 300WSM I have found an outstanding load that just seems to work.

Winchester case
Fed 215M primer
Near Max load of H 4350
Barnes 168 TSX

I know, I know, it is not a Nosler bullet, but I live in the middle of California.

My Tikka would gag on Fotis load of 68gr. of H4350. My rifle likes the 165 gr AB ahead of 65 gr H4350, 3135FPS. No Pressure and accurate.
just my .02.

I had real good luck with RL19 and 165 ABs. Speeds ran about 3150 and groups were right around 3" at 500 yards from my buddies M70 EW. It's a scary accurate load in his rifle and shot well in my old Featherweight as well.

I've used both imr4350 and imr4831 with 165 grain bullets but after trying RL17 with both 165 grain and 180 grain bullets I'm convinced that its a more efficient powder both for accuracy and speed.

Good Intel. I've been looking for 17, first effort with 4350 was 1moa but I've not had time to work up more loads.
