i already have a t/c encore in 308 win, and would like to buy a 375H&h barrel for it
the only thing that concerns me is the recoil, and one guy said its just like a 12guage slug, wich i think is just fine, but if it happens to be uncomfortable,,has anybody tried the flextech stock for the prohunters, does it help with recoil alot?

yes they work my ph that is listed in the classifieds originally came with a 300 win barrel and it was a real pusseycat to shoot

my 12 gauge hit a lot harder however that 375 could be different

Welcome to the forum. Hope to see your contributions as you become more comfortable. It is a great group of fellows here, and I certain you'll enjoy their knowledge.

If you are comfortable with a twelve gauge slug, you shouldn't have difficulty with a .375.

Welcome to the forum.
The 375 H&H recoil is more of a push, similar to a 12 ga slug. You should do just fine.

thanks for the replies everyone,im only 14, so i guess its time to start savin up for the barrel, anybody know of some good all round loads(that wont break the bank) for northern bc
ill be hunting deer, moose, bear and elk,
i was thinkin about the 260 accubonds, or the 250 A frames, but something a little more ""cost effective"" would sure help me shoot more

Jhunter1010,

You could always work up practise loads with a cup and core bullet, such as the 270 grain Hornady or the 270 grain Speer. Whilst they would not necessarily hit to the same point of impact as the AccuBond or the A-Frame, they would give you opportunity for range time and familiaisation with the rifle. It does help cut down on costs.

There is no question but that the 260 grain AccuBond would be a great bullet for hunting, and you could work up a load for that bullet and make certain your rifle is sighted in for the load you work up before carrying it afield.

You've picked a great sport and you certainly live in the right area to take great game.

In a lightweight rifle the .375 H&H can be punishing off the bench.I like my .375 's to weight around 9lbs.Then the recoil is fine.

A friend of mine has one in an Encore. This guy shoots his .338Lapua with no complaints but man he hates his .375H&H Encore. Last time he shot it 10 times in a row and started to feel sick. Went home and then straight to the hospital. Had to have his gall bladder removed.

He blames that barrel
