100, 200 and 300 yards. Prone, sitting and standing. Three different rifles:

.25-06 Rem 700 CDL, 6x Leupold, 115 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. Nice... Proven combo that's soft shooting and hard hitting. Love it!

.30-06 Rem 700 CDL, 2-7x Redfield, 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips. I really felt good with this rifle. Ringing the 300 yard gong time after time today. Even from standing.

.308 Win, Rem 700 VS. Krieger barrel etc... 4.5-14x Leupold, 155 gr Nosler match bullets. My beloved "Green Machine" never fails to deliver. Ugly, but what a rifle...

It was an afternoon well spent with these three good rifles.

Regards, Guy

Great rifles and they look to perform admirably.
A bad day at the range beats a good day anywhere else but you already know that. :)

Vince, it was a good day. Yard work all morning.

Headed to the range with these three rifles and a plan to shoot standing, sitting & prone with all of them, out to 300 yards.

Finished shooting. Went to the Gun Club board meeting. Good stuff.

Got home about 10:00. That's what it takes to keep the club running smoothly. Well worthwhile.

Shooting for one's own pleasure is a true joy. It gives a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. Too often, my own trips feel like work. They have their own sense of accomplishment, but the joy is not always present. Good stuff, Guy.

The Green machine is now the Tan machine Guy?

Model 700 BDL's & CDL's! My all time favorite rifle. Those are some nice looking one's too.
I used to do a lot of position shooting also. Just can't seem to find the time nowadays. Maybe I need to look harder, maybe I'd find enough time.

Action & barrel are still green.

This is the old HS Precision stock that Remington shipped the rifle with, nearly 20 years ago. I painted it tan & olive to blend well with our sagebrush covered hills. A while back I started hunting a little more with the .308, and ditched the green McMillan in favor of the original stock. The HS stock is considerably lighter and handier, better for most hunting situations.

The green McMillan is still here! I'll likely put it back in the McMillan one of these days. The McMillan is a superior stock for match shooting. Higher comb. Better length of pull for me. Has the rail for the adjustable handstop. Much better match-rifle stock.

The old green Leupold belonged to the police department, so I turned it in when I retired. Pretty sure I won't paint this scope.

So yeah, it's still the Green Machine, but not as green as it was! :)

I understand Mike. I've been teaching a lot of self-defense handgun, and AR-15 classes. Often I'll teach several classes without actually firing a single shot myself. Love the classes, but... I like my own range time too!

Found out I really don't like working on other people's guns. I'll fix a few for friends still, but I'm not trying to be a gunsmith at all. Have a couple of good friends who are gunsmiths, and they appreciate the business I send them from my classes.

Guy I think as long as you are pleased it could be pink with white polka dots as long as it performs is all that matters ! I actually like both faces the Green Machine wears and I started on Remington's years ago as well but never owned a bolt back in the day as it was always the hanging up 742 30-06 that would shoot a full clip like once a year! Did not matter how it was cleaned it was a hanger till the day I sold it! It had the Monte Carlo stock so I guess it was an ADL? BDL? Not sure? I have a bunch of my own smith work to do and I would almost hire one to come to my place to do it if I had more tools but that would involve work! If I had more of a shop I would probably have everything but kinda glad I do not! Being a retired Aircraft Mechanic kinda has it's ups and down and getting dirty anymore is not my way to spend a day to much anymore! As mentioned any day at the range is better than a day at work! 3 nice rigs Guy !

I'm too spastic to take more than two guns to the..................... ............Squirrel!

Guy,
Good realistic practice for hunting season. As usual your shooting very well and your guns look great!
I just took my kids to the range and had them shoot 10rnds from all the field positions(17HMR) and showed them how take advantage of trees, rocks and backpacks then I showed them the shooting sticks . It was practice for them but I was also keeping track of their accuracy so I can ensure that they take ethical and doable shots. They're pretty solid out to 300yds when they shoot from a supported position. 100 yds max from offhand.

Nice... Yeah, the advantage of shooting from a decent rest is HUGE!

Good on you for taking them out to the range!
