Good article about the LRAB .284-168gr

Good article. I'm running some 175's and at 2860 and got 5 jugs. So I'd say its pretty good to see similar results.

Haven't yet run the bigger LRABs. The 150s do a fine job, so I have no doubt that when I get around to the 168s, they'll perform just fine.

Good read onn the ABLR.
My limited experience with the 7mm 150 gr ABLR was very impressive and it kills deer like lighting.
The ABLR is a winner for sure.

They are running just about the same speed in my 7mm WSM.. Pretty good accuracy as well. I think I can tweak them a hair to get them even tighter, but they are running MOA or better right now, at the same speeds as you with RL25.. Really makes for a powerful load for that little rifle.

So far with limited testing I have not been able to get the accuracy I expected. I will be trying some more when I get more mobile..

Barrel Lija- 26" with a 1-9 " twist. I have used 81-83 grains of h -1000, and RL-22. Both nosler and Remington cases. I think I have to really get aggressive with the seating depth.

Seems anything you set your mind to loading & shooting does real well, at the range or in the field!

Yah ive found quite a few keeper loads over the years that arent or werent in any books.

start low and work up with known components is key along with a bit of research. Knowing how to analyze targets and what to change over the years has helped also.

The LRAB should be fun!

I have some loaded up for the 280 AI with RL22.
Just waiting for some warmer temps.

My 280AI is almost complete and I have 150's, 168's and 175's set aside for testing. Which ever shoots best will get the nod for all around hunting and long range targets. I ran all three through ballistic program and they seem to all perform very similar as to drop and energy retention out to a 1000yds.

Scott, I will be testing my 280AI using 150gr. & 168gr. ABLRs as well. I should have my rifle in a couple of weeks if all goes well :)

Blessings,
Dan

I have 150 and 168s
My initial testing in my 280AI didn't go too well and so I reverted back to my proven 140 AB load for the hunting season.

I plan to try again in the spring

Good article. The penetration and expansion at distance is impressive.

Me and HTDUCK are leaving this afternoon for one last chance at a cull buck or auodad. I have my 280AI dialed-in with the 168gr ABLR at 2950fps. Hopefully there will be a test subject downrange. :)

Creedmore,

Good luck to the both of you.
What is your load for the 168 gr ABLR in the 280AI?

Creedmoor and Howard,

Best of luck to each of you. Score big, gentlemen.

How are guys humping these things 100-200fps faster that the 160 AccuBond in same caliber?

3100+ seems warm for a 168 outta the 7RM

2950 seems petty warm in a .280AI too...

I've owned/own both of those calibers, with 168 Bergs and 162 Amax.... about 150fps below those velocities.... so, I just don't see it.

Since we're bumping by 150 fps or so.... should I see 3350-3400 outta the 150 LRAB in the 7 Rem Mag.?

Please post some QL info on these.... I'd like to see projected pressures.
