Nice to know deer that size are still around. I've yet to see any big deer for more than a few years now. I used to stop by Frank's Taxidermy in CdA to see what's being taken and at least five years ago Frank had said not many big deer are coming compared to previous years.

I agree the monsters just aren’t around like they used to be. Across the west mule deer are struggling. Hunting pressure to changing farming practices, encroachment by white tail deer.
These guys live on a piece of private ground, 1,200, acres next to me. They don’t hunt but I could dump one on my property legally if I had a tag. Not sure I would.

Those are both nice bucks. Dropping a big buck next to my house just seems wrong. Takes all the adventure and excitement out of the hunt! Is that even a hunt? My whole attitude about hunting changed when I started hunting the destination instead of just trying to kill an animal. Now, it doesn't matter as much to me if I kill something and I just enjoy the trip a lot more. I usually do end up killing something now too ironically.

Been so busy since I got home from Alaska I haven’t gone out to poke around. Actually found seven bulls in the valley he walked out of, fun afternoon.
