Great new brush rifles from Savage

Savage does appear to be anticipating the market and providing accordingly.

That 375 or heck, even the 338WM would be a guides dream in the North. Not sure about the push feeder part, but other than that, it looks like it is made to work for sure. Good on Savage!

You know Scott, I use to worry about that PF thing also but when was the last time you ever heard of a Weatherby or Sako (etc) fail to work in Africa and or Alaska?

Heck WBY was the standard in African hunting for so many years.

Your probably right Fotis, but I will say this, my old man hunted Alaska a few times and all the guides rifles were either a Win or Ruger.. Again, I am not dogging them a bit, but I like the CRF and the complete control of the cartridge into and out of the chamber.

I like the Weatherby and Savages, it is just a personal hang up. My personal weapon nowadays (HK416) isn't a CRF and it works all the time too.

I know Savage marketed a CRF for awhile as did Sako didn't they?

Although, I would question the WBY as the standard in Africa. I would bet there are alot of M70 458's out there, along with BRNO's? But, I think ol Finn Aagard hunted with a M70 Push Feed 458.. So I am probably all wet there too!

It is a known fact that I love CRF. However, I've never jack a shell into a Remington (or a Sako, or a Browning, or a Weatherby, or a ...) while hanging upside down, so they always fed okay for me.

Savage is offering something pretty interesting there. I think I'd rather have the Ruger Hawkeye, but those 18" barreled Savage rifles are pretty neat.

I've got push feed and controlled round feed rifles. They all seem to work just as well.

Weren't the original tang-safety Ruger 77's push feed? I had one, a .300 Win mag, for about 12 years. It was a good basic rifle, but I seem to remember it being push feed, despite having a big ol' extractor that looked like it should be CRF.

Yes they were Guy. They were not a truly CRF action.

I had the opportunity to handle these at the NRA Show this past weekend. I found them to be well balanced and fit me well.
