Perfect morning to shoot other than the bugs. The WI state bird was in full force (mosquito)

I took 6 rifles and all did well.

I shot dad's 25-06 with a different 3-9 and after I got it zeroed, shot a group just over 1". The same ammo with the Leupold I just sent back shot .5" one time and over 2.5" the last time. I think there is something wrong with the scope.

My 22-250 was used to burn time and the 6 rounds I had left over. Group #1-.793 and group #2-.584". I would like to get a fine crosshair scope on this rifle to really see what it can do. I have a Nikon Buckmaster with a heavy reticle right now.

My Ruger 25-06 with 110AB shot 2 groups. One at 1.074 and the other at .709. I am calling it good and hope to take it deer hunting this fall.

Since the switch to 180 AB from the 165 PT in my late father-in-laws Sauer 202 has been great but I wanted to see if I could get it to shoot sub MOA 3 times in a row and today was day #3. I shot and hit the .5" bull on the cold bore then shot 2-3 shot groups. The first one was not my best shooting and I shot a 1.356. Group #2 was a group that makes me very happy. .664" and 1.5" high at 100 yards. Wow was I all smiles after that. So I have shot 4 groups with this combo and 1.356 was the worst and I know I did not shoot the greatest.

My 6BR is getting closer to being done with load dev. I shot 30.2 grains of Varget tried different depths from .012 jam to .006 jump. .000 and .003 jump were the best at .231 and .221" I am going to try different neck tension next.

The last rifle was the M1. I have been hitting low at 100 yards with it so I wanted to zero it in. I was able to get most of my shots about 3" below the bull before I maxed out the elevation. I guess I will just have to aim high when I get to 100 yards and beyond.

It was one of the best days at the range in a long time. To get all the rifles that have been driving me crazy to shoot under 1" was great.

Sounds like a great day WT. Glad to hear the Sauer is doing what you want the 25-06's are working well too.

Glad to hear that things are all coming together for you. Also good shooting on your part. Good groups = great range day!

I love a good range day. After my operation I hope to get back out again. I hear you about the bugs. Last time I was out a lizard nearly ran over my foot, spider got into my gun case, some weird chartreuse furry critter started crawling across the bench and carpenter bees were active. It's hard to concentrate with all that around you. :)

Seeing the Sauer shoot under .75" made my day. The Ruger 25-06 makes me laugh a little. It was on the used rack at a local shop. It has a stock that is beat up, the crown has some rust and over all, the gun has been used. I got a good deal on it and so I thought what the heck. So far, it has shot the 75 Vmax, 87 Sierra and 110 AB very well. I think it has the old Douglas heavy barrel on it. I sold a shotgun for the money to buy the rifle and it was well worth it. I often think about getting a new stock or refinishing it but it is not worth it. She was made to shoot/hunt.
