I would go to 20” or 18”. Just saying you will appreciate the extra velocity in particular if you go to use heavy bullets. Just depends on your philosophy of use for the rifle.

I really, really hate heavy rifles. The Accustock, and barrel with nut weighs 8 lbs, add in an action, recoil lug, scope mounts, rings, scope, and loaded magazine and I'm going to be pushing 11 lbs if I don't cut the barrel down. I knew this barrel was going to be heavy, but the price was really too good to pass up. Pus 16.5" puts me between 23-24" when I add my suppressor.

He did a break-in and brought it back to me with some supplies..First up was the 129gr SST and 8208-XBR..There was a flat spot between 26.5 and 27.0...loaded 3 at 26.8 (what I decided wax Max for the rifle) and it shot pretty danged good!
