Cooked this tonight for the fam, but I cut the steaks up so that we could have them in fajitas. I added some sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped onion, and home made quacamole. I was pretty impressed with it, and my wife didn't believe that it was deer steaks! This is the first time I have cooked deer for her and she has been excited about it. I'm not sure what that says about my cooking skills, but I'll take it.
3 Tbsp. Lime juice
3 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. steak seasoning
1 small jalapeno, chopped
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
1 large clove garlic, peeled, minced
1/4 tsp. ground cumin.
Mix it all togeather in a sealable bag with steaks. Put in fridge for a few hours, turning every 30 minutes. Remove meat from marinade and grill to your liking. The recipe calls for beef steaks, but I figured it would be good with deer or elk, it was.
