Gun case for California flying

Hey guys, I live in California and am looking for a rifle case that I can use to transport my rifles when I fly. What gun case is the most cost-effective but still legal in CA? Thanks.

I use a metal one from Cabelas. But, any of the cases are legal. I just like the extra protection.

+1 Pelican makes the best case for flying that I have found. It isn't as much about what is a good legal case for flying with, but what is the most "gorilla proof" case for the guys that are throwing stuff off the plane. I had a friend that learned that lesson the hard way when he came to see me a couple years ago and used a cheap case to transport his varmint rifle.
