Looks like this is a good possible combo for the 41. Any pet loads/suggested charge weights? They will be run in a Smith 57-1.

Thanks!

18-20 grains is about right. My 657 Magnum Hunter likes 20 grains with the 225 cast from Missouri Bullet Co.

...you might consider "Lil'Gun" if you can find some, generally speaking, same or better MV w/ less pressure & muzzle blast, & a lot cleaner...

Yeah, I sure will watch for it, but H110 is about the only option for the time being.

I didn't get to the range, but I did some back yard plinking, just a cylinder full, to feel the recoil and get acquainted.

I like it. :)

Tom, the S&W 58 should be an easier gun to shoot than the (2) Model 29's that I had. My .41 Mag was a Ruger Blackhawk which handles very differently than a S&W revolver does.

I tried some Accurate 4100 in my .44 Mag and it's a keeper. I'll probably find out how it does in the .41 next, but I'm expecting similar results.

I have found some IMR 4756 which was discontinued and on sale. I have been using this powder for mid range loads in the .45 Colt Peacemaker. I also use Hodgdon TiteGroup for target loads. You may find that you probably want some midrange loads for paper punching with lead bullets anyhow. Plus, these lighter loads keep the revolver frame and crane in good condition.

Tom , this is a little off topic but I wanted to warn you . . I have a Dan Wesson 41 . I use unique powder with my cast lead bullets . unique was very dirty , I've heard they cleaned it up some . I use blue dot with my jacketed bullets . a few years back there were warnings that blue dot is no longer suitable for use in the 41 mags . I've used it and never had a problem . so I'm not sure if the powder blend changed or if maybe pressure spikes happen or what the problem is . so I'll be using the end of this blue dot and going to a different powder . my hunting bullet is a speer 220 gr 3/4 jacket . before antler restrictions we got the gang together to drive deer , I'd carry the pistol when driving and use my rifle while watching. that bullet flattened the only deer I killed with it .
