Had the 280 Rem out yesterday

Took the 280 Rem out yesterday for the fist time in quite some time.

I checked the BT's a couple years ago and they were 3002 FPS, I worked the Barnes up toward the end of last winter, early spring and haven't had the chance to check em.

My rifle really likes a 140 gr bullet the best. with the Barnes I was able to come up with an all around load for it that's good for everything with the exception of large bears. The ballistics tech at Barnes told me when I called for some load data the 7mm 140 gr TTSX is equivalent to a 30 cal cup and core bullet.

I'd have no problem using the BT on anything up to a large mulie.

Such generosity! My, I'm always overwhelmed (or something) by such thoughtful offers. :shock: David, I can't believe you'd try to take advantage of someone like that. You know he'd be far better off letting me assume responsibility for that rifle.

I thought about getting another 280, but I know what I have with this one and will probably get something else after the first of the year.

Like grry said...what are you using for powder? I've got a couple boxes of 140 gr TTSX's that I can't get to shoot with R-22 out of my 280.
