Handsome Bull Elk

Stalked this one for the photo. Have only shot three elk, one with a 7mm Rem mag & 175 gr Nosler Partition, two with my 30-06, using a 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip and the Hornady 178 gr ELD-X. All did well.

Sadly no. Just a photo of a bull I found in Yellowstone a couple of years ago. I'd forgotten about this photo until I came across it yesterday.

Been a number of years since I hunted the Clockum unit, near your place thought you might be up there sneaking around.

I saw a couple bulls this morning chasing cows. Unfortunately they were 5-600yds on to private property and I only have a cow tag until 10/25. After that it's bulls and cows where we were. One was a 300+" bull and was super cool to see shining in the sun just after sunrise.

Been a number of years since I hunted the Clockum unit, near your place thought you might be up there sneaking around.

I don't often hunt the Colockum. Lots of elk but a gazillion hunters too, and some of them are quite ill-mannered. I have an archery tag, but did not get out in September... We shall see, but honestly I don't need an elk. Much of the freezer is still full of my January 2023 cow elk.
