Morning folks, I just seen on Gallery of Guns. 35 whelen Ruger hawkeye standard. Depending on where you get them they are around $560.

Wow, that seems like a good price for a mild mannered hammer.

I bought that exact rifle when it was offered by Ruger. It shot reasonably well. However, in a fit of pique, I screwed on a Hart 12 twist barrel. It shoots somewhat tighter groups, but there was nothing wrong with MOA on a brand new rifle. If I was the other side of the border, I'd sure be tempted to grab another Ruger 35 Whelen. That is a good price.

I don't think mama will let me buy another rifle like 2 weeks after I bought my last one.
on a good note, I just got back from the range breaking in the barrel on the hawkeye 7mm.

had 2 loads that the gun really liked.

160 AB/7828 shot 4 into 1/2" with 5 into 1 1/4"
150 BT/4350 shot 4 into 3/4" with 5 into 1 3/16"

I'm happy, happy, happy!

My Hawkeye (.358) is a definite shooter, consistently shooting 0.5 MOA. No complaints there. Looks as if you got a winner in that 7mm.
