This is what I load in the 30-06 with 180gr bullets.
59.0grs Hunter
55.5grs Big Game
63.0grs H-4831
57.0grs AA-4350 or IMR-4350
56.0grs Win.760
61.0grs Reloader-22

So, which do you load? Or, better stated, which do you prefer and why?

Thanks!

Guy
All the loads listed gave me groups of an inch or less.Velocities ran around 2770fps - 2849FPS.Hunter and Reloader-22 gave me the highest velocity, but the other loads could be tweaked enough to equal them too.It would be a matter of flip a coin or whatever powder I have on hand or the most of,that's how close these loads were for me.

Guy,
Correction on my 180 BT load it's not 2775 fps but 2783 fps to be exact. My powder charge is 58.0 with H4350 powder.

Back in late 80,s a friend of mine wanted 200 grain bullets for elk hunting. He asked me to cook something up for his remmy 760 pump gun. I ended up Using IMR-4831, cci200 primers for a nice 2600 fps. The load was accurate in his rifle and seemed rather mild too. I stopped at 56 grains. That load eventually killed six elk. All one shot kills. The bullet was a good ole sierra gameking. My friend told me he never shot an elk past 100 yrds. with that combo but he had no trouble dumping his elk. The loads worked good according to him. I know there is more powder options now then there was back then but IMR4831 will work as well. Just saying

Cool. Thank you.

I'm using H-4831 and the old 200 gr Nosler Partition RN in my .30/06. From the 22" barrel,it's getting an average of 2650 fps and about 1-1/4" group at 100 yds.
