Help With 458 Lott Load Data (None at Nosler.com???)

Howdy all,

I bought a new CZ 550 American Safari at a great close-out price. I have some Nosler Partition "seconds" 500 grain bullets coming any day from Bivwak/SPS tht were also priced right. I have brass, powder and primers. But I looked at Nosler's reloading data on the web site and there is nothing for any .458 caliber. Not in the latest Nosler reloading manual I have, either.

So has anyone seen or have loading data for these 500 grain Protected-Point Partitions in either 458 WinMag or 458 Lott?

Hornady 7th addition has data for the 458 lott.

But you should check it out for yourself.

It’s surprising to me how often you will see one manual with a maximum charge a good 2 grain over what another manual will list. Yeah, there are other variables (case, primer, ect), but you’d expect them to be close.

Thank you, gents. I have the Barnes 4th Manual with data for Barnes bullets of course, and I'm ordering the Hornady 7th today. Also I have picked up some data from Alliant and Accurate powders websites. None list any loads for this particular bullet, though. So I figured I'd ask for help here and you guys came through like always!

Pop, thanks a million for the Quickload rundown. I'll be studying that for a few hours. It looks like it contains max loads for all known cannister smokeless powders for sure! And several I never heard of, too!!

I really appreciate the help! The rifle will be used for american bison, elk and whitetail deer (I know, I know) this fall. I hope to get the sights on a real buffalo (Cape, that is) in the next year or so. I am trying the rifle out as it came out of the box for now, to decide what if any 'smithing I might want done. I will tell you, though, the CZ 550 feels pretty good to me right out of the box, heavy stock and all. I have not shot it yet, but I will soon...

Work up slowly. This is a MAX in my Ruger #1
It is quite the elk load
As Winchester said about their 264 Win. Mag.
