Anyone shot one or handled one? They are making them in the same town I live in and would like to know more about them. I know that I can order from the factory and need to stop in one of these nights after work to get a price. I think it would be cool to own a rifle made in your own town.

I can not speak on it from first hand but my buddy is saving up for one.

Very nice rifles!
If I didn't already have a 1895G 45-70, I would be looking hard at one.

Same here, from the 30-30's and 22's they are putting out, they are 1st class all the way. They are set up really well, right outta the factory. They will put a serious hurting on Marlin, since the Henry's are actually by people that aren't blind!

In doing my part to spread the 45-70 sickness, I convinced a kid at work that a 45-70 was a must have rifle. A few weeks later he came to work with a Henry 45-70. It seems like a nice rifle. I have not got to shoot it yet, but it seems to run smooth, and looks pretty dang nice. He did have an issue with it chambering when he first got it, but hennery sent him a prepaid box, took it back, and had it back within a week functioning properly. He is very pleased.

Well it is going to be a while before I order one. I talked to one of the assembly line foremen yesterday and he says they are a year out from making 45-70 in town. They have a few months to go before they start 30-30s then from there, they are going to work on 45-70. The receiver markings will say "Made in Rice Lake, WI USA" and one of my friends will be there making them. He said they just put 6 new CNC machines in over the last few months. They hope to hire more people from town also.
