Here she is. Not a 6.5mm but close!!!!!!

Perfect, Pop.
I just started the load process for mine. I've loaded some 140 A/Bs and am going for the velocity check. Have you done any 150 gr. work?
That seems like it would be pretty slippery in a Partition.

Darn nice rifle...and stainless too! Have you heard why Weatherby discontinued their stainless Mark V's? It's always baffled me. If I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn't have purchased a .257 WBY and would have gone with the .270 WBY. Great cartridge, especially for windy Wyoming!

I was doing some chronograph work some time back when a guy comes over with a 270 Wby in an original model 70 made by Wby in the early years. It was a beautiful specimen with a 24" barrel. I chrono'd it for him with some shells from an original box with the lion on it;

150 grain factory load
3250 fps
drove tacks!

The word direct from Brad (Ruddell) at Weatherby is that the stainless Mark V didn't sell enough to justify production costs.

Greg you know me. Way too many rifles for way too many scenarios. I always pictured the 270 BEE as a goat, deer cartridge.
Do not get me wrong it will drop a moose or elk or big bear in a jiffy with the right bullet. I just have----use to have--- enough guns for all situations.

Deer guns for timber, deer guns for open fields, deer guns for mixed open/close cover, timber elk rifle, open elk rifles, mixed elk rifles, rifles for timber elk hunting on Tuesdays...

When you worry more about which gun(s) you are going to bring than you do about everything else you hunt with, you have a problem.

Let's see, which of the three .30 Magnums do I want to take? Which of the four 7mm Magnums?

Wow, that is a trucking load! Man, that would be serious medicine right there for deer/elk. Scotty

You are going to love it, Pop. I get the highest velocity with IMR 7828 and super groups. Mine loves 140 grain, and they are chrony'd at 3400. The 130's clock at just over 3500 fps. Brass is on the 4th loading. The 150's are just shy of 3300. Best round ever for all applications imo.
