Didn't Warren Page also use one of those? I don't remember which cartridge he used, but I do remember he wrote a lot about using the 6mm bullet on deer, big exotics.

Page did run one. It was called the Page Souper Pooper.......... I think 244 Mashburn has a better ring to it.

I was going to do a 6mm Improved on a 700 VLS right after they stopped offering the 6mm in it. Day late, dollar short...

I think you could easily run a 244 Mashburn reamer up into a 243 Win. Might be a cool way to see if you like it a little before going through a major build. Plenty of room in a Model 70 magazine.

He's right Kurt, you could do it for a lot less and the Model 70 short action has enough room for the 6mm so you can seat the bullets out where you want. It's a bit longer than the 700 short action and makes it nice on those slightly longer cartridges. I say you should go for it!

...well, it don't have the same panache as a .244 Mashburn headstamp, but if you want to go a little hotter on a .243 the SLR (Super Long Range) is a pretty good option. Still fits in a short action, easy to form, some added case capacity & a longer neck...
