hodgden data for a 162 gr bullet and H1000 is starting 64 with max compressed load of 67 at 2902 fps. I Always test at the start load and sure glad i did. At 64 using a 2 foot drop tube i had powder crunch and 2950. so, i unloaded the rest of the test loads and started over at 62. at 63.3 i hit an outstanding load at 2910. I do not see how it would be possible to get 67 gr in my norma brass when im slightly compressed at 63.3. can anyone explain this?
I am jumping 85k.

You’d have to know which cases they used and weigh the difference between the two. That’d likely be the difference.

It varies between brass brands, my 300 Win Mag Lapua brass has H20 capacity of 92.29 grains and Norma has 95.20 grains . The Norma holds more powder capacity than the Lapua. I'm not sure what other brands water capacity may be.
Have you checked H20 water capacity with the fired primer in? Pouring the powder slow in a drop tube does help a little.
On Quickload case fill shows it as 112 grain case fill.

C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.

I believe he meant 0.085”off the lands.

Listed in reloading manuals they show the brass manufacturer of the brass the load was tested with. As lots of brass change so does the internal capacity , that’s why they want you to start low and work up.

yes, i meant .085 off the land. i’ll use the correct terminology in the future.
thanks for the QL data for my bullet and H1000. it was close to perfect what i actually saw. starting at the minimum load in Hodgden data, the only data i could find, 64 gave me 2950 from a 25” barrel . Hodgden said 2902 was max so , since speed is all i have to determine pressure, i backed off. my load of 63.3 I wound up in a great place with no change in bolt lift or any extractor marks . I’m getting .3 groups at 200 and have repeated that twice. hope to left at distance once i get my brass back from annealing

.3" at 200 is outstanding. Good job of handloading, and shooting too!

tackdriver284 could you post just the data for H1000 for my 7saum with the 162eldx. I assume QL shows progressive
charges like starting and max?

.3 inch groups at 200 is excellent. I would not change anything.

I could get a better assessment if you can give me the H20 water capacity, temp and OAL to be able to adjust the burn rate to your velocity / powder charge.
