SPS just got in some caliber and bullet selections I haven't seen in awhile!
.257 - 85gr Silvertips, 100gr BTs, 120gr PTs
.358 - 225gr NABs
.458 - 300gr BTs
Yeeee Haaaaw! Get them while they have them! 8)

I didn't even know they made .458 300gr BT's. So I ordered some for potential bear testing purposes. I'd imagine at Lott velocities they would do some damage.

It would be cool if the shank was pretty heavy to hold up if the nose blows up. I ordered some so if they get here this week I'll try some out in my gun and maybe even try them out on a bear by this weekend.

My buddy still had some of the old brass lion bullets we shot years ago and he is dying for me to shoot those too. When he shot them in wet phone books it blew a softball size hole in the second and third phone book. I don't think a bear will stand a chance with either honestly.

This bullet is designed for the 45-70. It might be a gernade at Lott speeds.

If it does I'll shoot some close range rock chucks

I finally was able to stock up on the 165 AB and 225AB's for the Whelen. Been waiting quite awhile for them.. I was getting close.. Hate paying full prize for them big bullets, getting pretty near 1.00 a bullet for the bigger calibers.

Now, looking for some 180 AB's and 160 AB's.. Rolling the dice. Hope they come out. Wanna buy enough to last me at least a year!

I talked to SPS today about the 300gr .458 BT's. The BC is .191 and they are designed with the heavy shank of the .30 cal 180gr and up BT's. Because the BC is so low and we are shooting 165yds I doubt they would be a issue. They will be under 45-70 starting velocity at 165yds. They will still have about 3500lbs of energy though.
