I discovered a bag of 75 rounds of once fired Hornady 444 marlin brass over the weekend and want to get it prepped to use and wandered what the quality of their brass is like?

As far as I know, the Hornady brass for the 444 is decent enough stuff. I haven't heard much bad about it from the Marlin guys. It isn't a super high pressure cartridge, so I would bet you'll get decent case life from most sane loads. Scotty

Hornady brass is quite good and consistent. I've used some of their brass, especially in 376 Steyr, and it is good stuff.

Thank's guys, I thought it was good brass just wanted too see what everyone's experience was with them. I'm going to try some 270 gr Speer deepcurl soft points with some RL-7 and see how they do.

I am pretty interested in the new Deep Curls as well. Seem like a great bullet from all the reading I have been able to do. I have some 170's coming for the 30-30, so I will give them a shot for that rifle. Can't beat them for the price. Scotty

I'm using a 265 gr Hornady interlock, I got the speer's for my 44 but thought I'd give em a try in the 444 too see what they'd do.

That 265gr Interlock has a following that is unreal over on Marlin Owners. I hear praise for alot of bullets, but that 265 is really the workhorse for alot of folks over there... Still looking for my 444. Scotty

They're great bullets! I use the 350 gr FP in my 450 marlin.

I have a great load for those in my 45-70 as well. They are a really good bullet as well. Just the price of them makes them pretty nice too! Scotty
