Hornady Interbonds?

I use them in .30 cal,.35 cal and .25 cal and they work like they are intended to. Mid Way sells them as bulk bullets though I'm not sure they are seconds like SPS sells. Hornady doesn't market their bullets like Nosler does.
I shot a black bear 2 falls ago in Idaho with a 130 Grain Interbonds. The shot was about 50 yards and it was a pass through. Muzzle velocity was 3,150 or so. The bear did not make it far. Those were Superformance factory rounds and they were not particularly accurate. I have since been using 130 Grain Ballistic Tips. Not because the Interbonds failed, just switched and found a really accurate load hand have stuck with it.

I like the Interbonds better than the Nosler AB's(sorry guys) because they give a wider mushroom. The AB was designed to fold back tighter to the shank for more penetration which I do not need. I do want the greater expansion of the Interbonds.
I also REALLY like the Swift Scirroco bullet.
This is just what I like and prefer. I do like the Nosler PAR bullets and have used them for years with excellent results.

Not a ton of experience with the IB, other than a few deer with the 270WSM a handful of years ago. They do mushroom real nice, retain weight very well and can be accurate.
I will second the Swift Scirocco. Great bullet.

All I can say is they never grouped for me no matter what I tried.

I've never been able to get the InterBonds to be consistently accurate. My rifles will shoot a variety of bullets accurately, including Interlocks; but Interbonds simply will not group consistely. Just when I think I have a load, I shoot a test and they disappoint. I still have quite a few of these bullets on the shelf, but I don't often go to them. I haven't been angry enough with anyone to sell them.

At one time it was the only bullet, the 165 IB 30 cal. that was accurate in my 300 WSM Kimber Montana. I tried a lot of different bullets and this showed the best results. Took a Mule Deer and a Whitetail with it.
WI Teacher, I have 25 of the 165's and a full box of the 180's I'll ship you for $40.00 if you're interested in testing them out? These are not seconds.

I use them in my .308 and so far it has been deadly on game. Really fast kills. These are in the Superformance loading and it shoots around a 1.0 to 1.5 inch group. My .308 is my woods rifle and the accuracy is fine for the purpose.
I also have the Superformance load in the 165 gr. in .300 Win. Mag. The accuracy is terrible, around 2 to 3 inch groups. I've never hunted with this load due to the accuracy or lack of.
Just decided to try some of the Superformance just to see. I wouldn't hesitate to load these bullets if they were available. Last time I looked Hornady was not making them at the present and they seem hard to find.
I'll be using the AccuBond from now on in the .308 and .300 Win.

I too worked up to a great load with the .270/150IB and H4350. I later went back to zero more exact with this load/same rifle and groups opened up dramatically...go figure. I'll keep working on it next summer. That might be the reason I haven't seen it as a reloading component in a great while.

I haven't tried interbonds yet. I am a big interlock fan though.

The Hornady site lists the Interbonds as "Temporarily Suspended". I guess they are too busy making Zombie killing stuff and all that other stuff they have branched out to produce to have much time for hunting bullets anymore.

The only interbond I "might" try is a .375 caliber IF they ever make one.

I bought these in factory loadings because I am afflicted with "Magnumitis" and just felt better with the Superformance published velocity in .308. While I was at it I decided to try some Superformance 165 gr. Interbonds in the .300. Now I know that particular .300 will regularly shoot groups 1/2 MOA and under, so I was really shocked by the spread of the group. I think I have 12 left as it just didn't get any better. I just chalked it up to the Superformance not being compatible with my rifle.
However, I decided to prep those 8 once fired .300's and see how they shot. I was going to do the whole thing and even turn the case necks. But when I tried to remove the inside primer punch burr things took a turn for the worse. The burr was huge. My chamfer tool would hardly cut it. I tried to drill it with no better luck. If I had of had a center cut endmill long enough I would have tried it. Finally I got all 8 deburred but just quit right there and went no further.
So I think there might have been several factors contributing to the poor accuracy.
I was already aggravated that they had stopped making the Interbonds and my goto 7mag. bullet the 154 Gr. Spirepoint while introducing myriad other products. Just didn'seem right to do that to loyal customers. So I made the switch and now it's Nosler all the way.

the guy's in marketing do some stupid things just to crunch the numbers to justify their JOB and CEOs have to appease the stock holders and turn a large profit even though it means alienating the loyal customers.
