How do you remove true oil from a stock?

Also, Is there a way to raise a small spot of checkering from a gun safe bump? Asking for a buddy, thanx!

I've raised bumps before, but only on stocks that were completely stripped down. The way I did it was cover the bump with a wet washcloth, apply a hot iron, and steam it out.

Miles Gilbert Stock Finish Remover
4 oz LiquidProduct #: 993912

Our Price:$7.99

They also sell checkering kits and a stock refinishing kit both by Miles Gilbert.

I have also raised bumps with the wet washcloth method but have stock oil on hand and apply after as that portion of the wood will be dried out.

Thank you...will pass on the info!
