Just one hunting rifle, an M700 CDL manufactured in 1978 & chambered in .270 Win. Excellent for varmints, North American game & the range. I do have to say, I look at everybody elses lists with extreme jealousy. I gotta get my armory started!!!

USMCDM24.................You are not alone! I have used only one rifle plus a sidearm for everything the last 35+ years. I reload to adapt to any hunting situation!! Your .270 with the right bullet will take care of any N/A big game!..........Don`t be jealous or worry about keeping up with the "Joneses."

Sako 85 Stainless Varmint in .308Win. I took my first water buffalo (fat cow - guesstimate 300kg+ clean) with this rifle this week. Head shot at 80m with 150gn BT.

Cheers

My meager list:

Remington 700 SPS Varmint .223 Leupold 4.5-14X fine duplex varmints
Stevens 200 .243 Win Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14X varmints, coyotes, deer
Howa 1500 Boyds' Laminted stock 6.5x55 Swede Burris FFII 3-9 deer
Winchester Model 70 Super Shadow .270WSM Burris FFII 3-9 deer and someday elk

I may give the .270WSM to my oldest son, if he ever completes his hunter education course. I would then replace it with either a Tikka T-3, Remington SPS, or Howa 1500 in the same caliber. I like the .270WSM.

The 270 WSM is indeed very nice. Very versatile also. Like the 270 Win but more of a good thing.

I've got a bunch of rifles but there are only two that I regularly take to the field. My favorite is a Remington 700 Classic .257 Roberts. Its a deer, javelina, coyote, bobcat, wild hog killin mochine. My newest is the Model 70 Classic 7mm Rem Mag. It could be my favorite rifle if'n it kicked like the old "Bob". I really like the Classic Winchester look and the 160 Accubonds it spits out.

I have one hunting rifle: Sig SHR 970 topped with a 3x9x40 Nikon. My sidearm is a 1911 w/ 185 grain +P. I hope to get a .44 mag next year. 1911 is nice, but a .44 would be a better sidearm the the scratchers and biters.

When I started hunting at 12 years of age, I started with my dads 30-30 carbine. He never bought me a light recoiling hunting rifle (with the exception of the .22 RF's) and somehow I managed to not be shell shocked in my formative years.

My favorite deer rig; mostly because I'm superstitious (I've never been "skunked" w/it) and it shoots sub 1/2" groups...

My varmint gun is a 223 WSSM Mod 70 Supershadow...
