My grandfather has given me his Winchester 94 (with Lyman Peep sight) in 32 Win. Special, not sure of when it was manufactured but I know she is old. I have shot it once before years ago, and he promised me then that when I got a little older it would become mine...well I guess the time has come and as soon as my parents can get him to "officially" sign it over to me and send it to my FFL I will post up some pics and the serial number to try and get an idea of when it was made.

Very excited, as I am fond of lever guns as well as older Winchesters. This should make a dandy brush deer rifle

The 32 is a fine cartridge that can be surprisingly accurate, even in the old Model 94s. That is a great gift. It will have even more meaning coming from within the family.

Congratulations on your Win 94 :) I am glad that it is staying in the family. Hopefully one day you will be able to pass it down to your son or grandson.
Look forward to your photos and a range report.

Blessings,
Dan

I just gave my oldest son my Model 1894 Winchester, .32 Special. Mine was made in 1946, S/N 1,462,XXX and is in very fine condition. All of the .32 Special, Model 94's were made to shoot smokeless powder, starting in 1905.

Congratulations on receiving your grandfather's gun. They are still capable of killing deer out to 200 yards with the peep sight. Mine shot about 2 inch groups at 100 yards. Enjoy using and hunting with yours.
