I want to reload some 45-70 450gr bullets

I want to reload some 45-70 450gr bullets. I can't find what powders are good with the 450gr bullet. If you know or have a site with info, it would be a big help.

The 450 gr bullet is going to be a heavy hitter in your 45-70.

That's a lot of bullet! The heaviest I've loaded for my 45-70 were some 425 grain "Piledriver Jr" cast bullets. My goodness those things packed a punch. These days, I'm content with 405's.

IMR 3031, H4198, IMR 4198, Reloader 7, all have been good.

Your H322 loads with the 425’s were exhilarating to say the least. Accurate but man, I had trouble keeping my ear muffs on my grape

Ya, those were some stout thumpers. Note that I haven't loaded that combo in years. Got to thinking that maybe 400 - 405 gr bullets, and 425's didn't really need to go that fast.... LOL!
