Been wanting one of the Ruger Scout rifles for a while, but held back because of owning a CZ 550 FL in .308 winchester that's very accurate and I will never sell it. Finally bought a Ruger Scout rifle .308 and what a winner IMO. I'm not much into the tactical stuff but this scout rifle will make a great hunting rifle for up close. I'm going to use the open sights for the time being, they are excellent. I see Ruger make's a 5 round mag now so I will need to pick up one of those. Never shot a scout style scope but I have a feeling I will like it. The other Ruger in the picture is a RSI stainless/walnut 7X57.

I bet it would make for a dandy hog rifle.

Very nice collection of rifles. I've always been partial to the Mannlicher stock. I have a CZ550 FL chambered in 30-06 which I traded off for my first 300WSM. I enjoy the 300WSM, but I likely shouldn't have gotten rid of the CZ. The stainless Ruger is very attractive. The Scout Rifle looks like business. I believe JD338 is correct that it would make a dandy hog rifle.

Man, that is a nice bunch of rifles!

My buddy just bought the Ruger Scout as well. Seems very happy with it during it's first range debut. I have handled a few of the Scout's and they seem like very nice rifles. I bet for the treestand hunters and the folks pushing in the woods, you couldn't do much better. I am putting a Scout Scope on my 45-70 when I return. As of right now, that is my Scout Rifle!

Does the scout also come with a flush magazine? Looks great, but I'd wonder about that long magazine.

That Ruger Scout handles great for a carbine style rifle. Good trigger pull from the factory also.
