Guys,

I have seen a couple of you mentioning using Imperial Sizing Wax and Unique to size cases. Can you give me a run down of how you apply it? Body, neck, inside case mouth, etc? How much?

I have been using One Shot with some satisfaction but have suffered a couple of stuck cases, so I now apply a little more liberaly and suffer dented shoulders due to too much lube.

TIA

Jimbeaux

I use enough Imperial Sizing Wax to ensure that my thumb and first finger on my right hand feel slick. I then roll the lower one-third of the case between my finger. I dip the neck in a dry lubricant (either motor mica or graphite (usually in Imperial Application Media)). Stuck cases is a thing of the past when I used one shot. Dented cases is a thing of the past when I was using Case Lube.

The only time I've stuck a case with OneShot was when I didn't let it dry before running the cases. Now that I let it dry before sizing, not a single issue. Not one.

I've never used imperial. Unique works very well for me and its dirt cheap. I've loaded about 1500 rounds from this $5 tub and I cant really tell I've used any. I just touch it with my finger and spin the case between my thumb and first 2 fingers. if you can see a tiny spec of it on your finger, thats enough for a long action case. I've not had a dented shoulder or stuck case since I stopped using one-shot. rub your finger on the edge of the case mouth if you need lube on the expander.

I do like the spray on one shot for pistol cases.

You tumble after that or just paper dry?

I paper dry. If I'm interrupted, there is always corncob media to absorb the lubricant.

Not to go off thread but... a cheaper and easier way is cooking spray and alcohol.

I spray on a rag and roll cases and brush inner necks.

Imperial is all I use. I've never stuck a case with it and it cleans up easy. I just wipe it off with a blue shop towel and often times I don't need to tumble rifle cases because they get clean from the lube wipedown.

I've been using one of the small tins for 10 years now and it probably has another 20 years left in it. I checked out the vidoe Fotis posted and noticed the current product is white, mine is green in color. I hope they didn't change it. I was thinking of picking up another tin so I'd have a lifetime supply.

I'm down to my last tin. I actually used a full tin during the past two years.

That's a lot... a whole lot... of reloading.

Maybe I'm the odd man out here, but I use the RCBS lube pad and their lube that comes with it and then dip the necks in graphite using the imperial media.

Knock on wood, I haven't had a stuck case yet.

It was a lot of reloading, and I have a new tin ready to go. I still have two spray bottles with One Shot and two bottles of RCBS Case Lube. All work, and I've used each type for some years. Imperial Sizing Wax works just that much better--really.

I started out using the RCBS Case Lube and it worked well. I just didn't like using the lube pad and not really being able to control the lube. Cases really don't need that much lube as long as its in the right places. Imperial allows that precision.

I dry mine with a micro fiber rag. unique cleans up easily.

Thank you. I do the same with the ISW. No contamination thus far for 10 years now.

For those using OneShot, you need to completely clean the die of other lube before using and then spray the inside of the die. I"ve used the O/S before it dries much and no stuck case as long as the die is free of other lube and it has been lubed with O/S. But since it was mentioned about O/S making the necks crooked, I'm sure going to try other lube on my 270 Win. I used to have some red resizeing wax years ago, don't remember the name, it worked really well!

Jeez, Mike, I've always been impressed with your knowledge and shooting ability, but I think you may have just become my hero... :)

Me too, except I use an RCBS nylon brush to get lube in the case neck, then tumble the cases afterward. I've only stuck one case, in a Hornady .223 FL die. And I can't get the sucker out of there (with admittedly half-hearted trying). Good thing I have spare dies that I like better (RCBS FL and SB dies).

Truthfully, Kurt, I'm still finding enough Imperial Sizing Wax in the tight little corner of the tin that I was able to size fifty 300WSM cases and twenty-seven 9.3X64 cases yesterday. I believe there is enough to do another twenty or so cases. I do, however, have a new tin ready to go. I have Scots ancestry, according to my wife.

Same here, used RCBC lube for a long time, with their pad. Imperial Sizing Wax is easy to apply and very easy to clean up. I use a shop towel to spin them clean. Never have a problem and no squeaks from cases either.

I just rub some of the wonderful Imperial Sizing Wax (a little bit) on my fingers, enough to wet the case surface very slighly. I also make sure that the neck is used sparinly with lube. I use a carbide sizer button and keep it froee of lube at all costs. I use a tee shirt to wipe cases after sizing. Because of the carbide sixer butto, I do not lube nech sized cases at all.
