Since my problem with Hybrid 100V, I've decided to go with a non-temp sensitive powder. I tried IMR 4451 today with so-so results. and wondered if any of you have tried it. The theory of a temperature stable powder that reduces copper fouling would be nice.

I'm using the 180gr AB .015" off the lands, worked up from 60 gr to 63.5gr with CCI BR-2 primers. I plan on swapping primers and repeat.

Another question.... I've never had any problems getting AB's to shoot well with anything from .130" off lands to .010", but does anyone find a particular sweet spot in regards to jump?

In a wide variety of cartridges, ABs shoot best for me from 0.090 to 0.100 inches off the lands.

Thank you, DrMike. I'll back them off some. Have you played with IMR 4451 yet?

Like you I'm working on a load with 4451 to replace hybrid 1000 in my 280.

So far it's showing some promise accuracy wise but I've only tested 3 loads after the initial ladder test. Velocities have been better than expected.

Not in the 300WSM. However, should I get an opportunity to do so, it will be tested.

Same here. I've never had great results being closer than .050" with any AB. Could be just my rifles and loads but I bet I end up closer to .1" off most of the time.
