Why would you get flamed? The fellows on the forum use quite a variety of bullets.
Try a maximum charge of 46.5 grains of IMR4064 which should yield a velocity in the vicinity of 2825 fps in a 22 inch barrel (generated by QL). For a minimum charge, drop back ten percent. The current Barnes Manual does not list IMR4064, but the third edition listed 45 grains max (and 41 grains min) for the 150 grain XFB and 150 grain XBT. Best of luck and let us know how the loads work out.
I know it is not a Barnes, but a Hornady 150gr SST w/47gr of Varget gets me 2850. It is the only load I have found so far that really shoots excellent out of my wifes 308. Seems like Varget is an excellent powder for the 308 with most bullet weights. W748 is my second favorite. Sorry I drifted, just giving you some ideas. Scotty
Thanks guys. I'm trying to use powders I have on hand. I also have IMR 4350 as my other rifles are a 6mm and a .280Rem! I also load 30.06 in military rifles so I had the 4064 around.

I would also suggest Varget plus RL-15. These are pretty much the most accurate powders I have seen for the .308Win. In RL-15 start at 47grs and work to book max of 49grs.
