Interesting Observation

I was visiting the RCBS site. I noticed the feature entitled, "RCBS Featured Recipes." Five recipes are included, four of which are built with Nosler bullets (two Partition, one AccuBond and one Ballistic Tip). Just interesting to note.

Yea the 300 mag loads with RL-22 are interesting. One guy is using 75.5 while the other is using 79.5 for only 3120. That seems like a lot of powder for only 3120.

I wonder if RCBS checks those loads for safety before putting them on their website. 79.5 seems pretty high for a 180 PT but I don't have my reloading guide handy.

Are they all 300 Win Mag loads? Seems like the OAL looks like a WBY or other H&H based COAL?

The top few loads didn't indicate caliber.. Really hard to say.

The first pic, the guy from Waco, his specifics fit the 300Wby, almost to a T. Maybe 300RUM, but easily 300Wby. The guy from NJ with the 208gr A-Max load, his numbers don't add up. The charge weight is low for anything bigger than the 300WinMag, which is what he says he's using. But his COL is 3.606'??? That's about half an inch longer than spec. Maybe it's the long nose profile on that A-Max, though. The guy from Stevensville, MT loading with RL17 is almost assuredly shooting a short mag, based on the 67gr charge weight and COL of 2.88".
