I went to my gunshop today, and FINALLY put hands on and saw my Montana...but didn't get to take her home because of the 5 day background check

All I can say is I fell in love with it just taking it out of the box. Fit and finish looked excellent, and the rifle just "fit" me. Perfect weight and balance, and the 1999 action was amazing; Smooth barely describes it. Other guys in the shop were mightily impressed.

5 more long days and it will finally come home with me, and pics will be posted.

The Montanas are nice. Unfortunately both of mine shot like a 12 gauge with buckshot even after I returned them to the factory.

Kodiak: Rifle was supposed to be here end of January, early February. Placed the order early December. Got here now

SJB: The whole 5 day wait thing kinda gets me too, esp. with long guns but once I finally get my CC down here no more of that mess

I really hope so. The wait is even worse knowing its just sitting there in the shop while the background check is going through. As soon as I get it, and set it up with the Zeiss, I will be posting some pics and then try to post an honest review of the MRC 1999.

Same here even though the NICS check is immediate and so is firearm relinquishment.

Tuesday she comes home. And next paycheck I am scheduling an appt. with the FL Div of Licensing and getting my CC License. No more of these wait periods for me
