Just curious if anyone is concerned about false copper signs on their patches using standard brass jags? Specifically using Patch Out or Wipe Out .

I run the nickel covered jags from Tipton and have no worries. I like Butch's solvent and the old jags turned my patches solid blue every time. So when i ran my borescope down the barrel it was always in my mind that I didn't get it all lolJust curious if anyone is concerned about false copper signs on their patches using standard brass jags? Yep , switched to those years ago and no looking back.I run the nickel covered jags from Tipton and have no worries.
Thats very realisticYes, it happens, but it doesn't concern me. I minimize the effect by thoroughly wiping the jag each time I push a patch through the barrel. It is easy for me to tell the difference between color coming from copper in the barrel from a light smudge from the jag. Additionally. my barrels are "broken in" enough that all the copper usually is gone from the barrel in the first or second application of Wipe-Out.
