I was just doing a little surfing on the Net and I have a couple of times come across this site called Len Backus' Long Range Hunting. He is making a number of claims regarding the rifles he is making.I know all of the smiths do somewhat. I was wondering if anyone knows of someone who has had a rifle made by him and if it really is 4 to 6 weeks maximum?
I was just wondering out loud :)

Dan, I actually visit LRH fairly often. Pretty nice site most of the time. Kinda similar to Nosler, not alot of horse poop and mainly guys that just wanna shoot/hunt.

Not really sure about his rifles, they look very well built, but seem a little on the high side for price, comparing to building a rifle of your own, I can't see them being any better than a good smith can turn one out, for less money. Although, having a rifle ready to roll, as soon as you get it is handy.

Some good information over there as well. They get some input from Berger, Minox, Zeiss, ect..

Are you thinking of another rifle already?

Not really just snooping really.
But there are a few options for me:)
I have a number of shotguns that I might unload and put towards another build:)
This time I believe I will get the young smith from here in Regina!

Blessings,
Dan

He uses the smiths who are sponsors on the site to build the rifles (you don't know which one it is). He just builds the more common long range calibers. Since he sells many of the parts he has them in stock so there isn't near the wait. I'm a site sponsor for my muzzle brakes over there.
