I would like to try Vihtavuori 165 powder.I am loading for a .300 Win. mag.Components consist of:Lapua brass,Federal GM 215m primers,180 Nosler Partitian Spitzer.
The burn rate chart places this powder between RL-22 and H-1000.I am presently using H-1000 with good results, but thinking the V V 165 might offer a little more velocity with less compression.
I have heard that some of the V V powders are temperature insensitive.
Any thoughts or experiences with the above combo?
Thank you,
Jimmy

I've never used Viht powders so I can't comment on them. Here is the load info from #5 manual:

71.5 to 75.5gn of N165

the previous post is the best place to get the load data.
I use a lot of Viht powder, and have great luck with it. I'm not sure if you'll see improved velocity however. I use the 165 out of my .280 which sees major temparture variances......seems to work great. It's also a very clean burning powder!! Awesome for AR's with finicky actions.
