Hey there,
So I asked this else where and it quickly turned into something it shouldn't have. I'm just looking for anyone using RL23, primarily in the 7mm Rem Mag.
I just finished a build using a CBI Remage 26" heavy sporter. Have been using the 180gr ELD-M, loaded up ten shots with a lower end Retumbo load to shoot and clean with, then loaded up five at 60, 60.5 and 61.0. I cleaned, chrono'd the first two, let the barrel cool and then shot a three shot group. I fired the first two with a Magnetospeed V3. Primers looked the exact same as when I put them in.
60.0
2805,2814
60.5
2832,2823
61.0
2861,2860
From here I'm going to go up in .3 grains starting at 61.0 with the goal of stopping around 2900-2925 fps, while shooting a 300 yard ladder.
Anyone else do anything with RL23? I know everyone is talking about RL26, but I have 8 pounds of this and accuracy so far has been very nice. 60 grains gave me under half an inch, would like a bit more velocity but it is my fall back plan.
Thank you
