Well I have loaded up 50 rounds each to get serious at the range.
257 Roberts 115 gr BT's
280AI 150 gr ABLR
338 RUM 250 gr AB

Plan to hit the 200, 300 and 400 yd ranges this Sunday. The rifles are all wearing new/different scopes.

The 257 R is a M700 Classic with a VX-3 3.5-10x40mm CDS dial.
The 280AI is a custom 700 with a Mark 4 4.5-14x40mm with M1 dials.
The 338 RUM is a M700 LSS with a new VX-6 3-18x44mm.

The following weekend I hope to shoot 600 and 800 yds at the farm. Then I will be ready to start killing crop damage deer. Max range at the farm is 870 yds. I'm really looking forward to using the VX-6. Pretty nice scope.

I hope the weather cooperates as I have been waiting way too long.

I'm somewhat behind you, Jim. However, I'm gearing up! Good luck on all your shooting and later in the hunts.

I've got a 257 Roberts Classic. It hasn't been too particular about what weight bullet it likes

That definitely looks to be a shooter. Some fine riflery there as well. You are to be congratulated for presenting such fine accuracy.

Very cool Jim. Can't wait to see the 257 Roberts nose dive a few deer. That's an awesome trio of rifles you have there.

Jim
That is really nice, it makes it easy for the reloader/shooter. You can't go wrong with that rifle !!!!

Definitely sounds like a good time. Really interested in how that 280 responds to the longer ranges with those bullets.

Well I made it out but didn't get everything done. There was a open 3-D shoot and it interfered with our shooting.

The 257 Roberts is singing. Dead on at 200 yds and 1.75 MOA puts it dead on at 300 yds. Ringing steel at 30 yds was easy. My friend Sue had fun with the 300 yd gong. Her first time shooting at that distance and she did great. The 280 AI is dead on at 200 yds and 2 MOA puts it dead on at 300 yds.
The 338 RUM is almost there. Accuracy went so I scrubbed the barrel. The nim rods showed up to shoot 3-D so my shooting was scrubbed for the time being. I'll get back out this week and finish the 338 RUM zero and verify at 300 and 400 yds.
