Loads for 357/44 Bain & Davis

Looking for loads to be used for Hog Hunting and IHMSA matchs.

If you don't mind me asking, what is a 357/44 Bain and Davis? Nosler does not have load data for this cartridge.

It is a 44mag necked down to 357. It was developed around 1964 to obtain higher velocities out of 38 cal revolvers but is used in silhouett shooting. It works well in a closed brech single shot hand gun.

What bullet weight are you looking for? Powders listed are 2400, Win 296, and IMR 4227.

158gr JHP. To be used out of 15in 1-12 twist, encore.

158gr HP-XTP
CCI 350 primer

2400 start 16.9 grs 1600 fps MAX 20.8 grs 1900 fps
WIN 296 start 18.0 grs 1600 fps MAX 24.9 grs 2100 fps
IMR4227 start 20.7 grs 1600 fps MAX 23.1 grs 1800 fps

Remember to start low and work up.
You should also do a search to find and cross reference the Hornady load data.
