Long chamber

#39 looks good. Remember if you measure outside edge to outside edge then subtract the caliber dia, .308. That puts you under MOA as it is.

44 looks great to me. I'd start seating shorter by .005" and see if you can pull the 3rd shot in.

After yesterday's tests, I loaded another range of loads using IMR 3031. Similar results but a little more consistent through out. So today I tested my most accurate load from those batches starting at a COAL of 2.800 and working down .005" at a time.

The only problem is that the load on the upper left was sub MOA yesterday..... The next step is bed the action and then take my most accurate test load and check consistency I guess. Thanks for all the pointers.

All the data you are accumulating is suggestive of the proximity of a fine load. The load from yesterday may be an aberration. It was, after all, only three rounds; it is not improbable that the group you saw yesterday fell within statistical parameters. I'd sure focus on the tight group you are showing today. Bedding the action (pillar bedding is even better) is always a sound move on a rifle. Good looing group.

That is a great looking 3 shot group. I know for my self some days at the range are better than others with all things being equal, rifle, scope, loaded rounds. I'm the variable that changes more than the other things listed.
