Well i just bought a rangefinder yesterday so i decided to try some long range shooting today. I got my clicks for my scope figured out and man its amazing how accurate u can be. My comfortable range before today was to 300-350 yards but i was making 630 yard shots pretty easily and now im hooked. Man this long range shooting is addicting.

Did you run a ballistic program based on your variables first and then confirm your clicks at various ranges with your range finder?

Good deal laker!

Tell us more about your equipment.
What LRF are you using? What rifle, caliber, and scope?

I used the ballistics calculator at www.biggameinfo.com and to my suprise my gun was dead on at those distances with the number of clicks the calculator said to use. im just using a .257 weatherby vanguard everything factory nothing customized on it or anything and a cheap BSA 8x32x44 1/8 MOA scope. My rangefinder is a leupold RXIII. I heard that this range finder isnt the greatest but it has been awesome for me haha even thouhg i have only had it a day haha. I have ranged antelope so for out to 694 yards. The rangefinder brings the range up as soon as i push the button. Im shooting 110 grain AccuBond at 3,418 fps. I would like to buy a better scope but i need to save my money for college next year. Man this is so addicting. Its really nice cause all i have to do is walk out my door and go about 30 yards and i can shoot as far as i can see basically so i get lots of practice.

Sounds awesome, unlike you I have to drive about 3 hours out to "the farm" to do any rifle shooting over 25 yards. There are no public ranges in the Omaha area so out to the cornfiled I go.Sounds like a lot of fun and good luck with it.

i live 30 miles from the nearest town so it works out great.

I just shot my tikka 300 wsm w/ hornady 110 vmax at 500 yards. I used the JMB calculator for my tradjectory and I hit the 4 10" balloons with no misses. I missed the 6" balloons on the first shot though. I was really impressed with this calculator. I was shooting a couple inches high, but my range finder or some of the data I entered could have been off abit.

next weekend I hope to shoot out to 900 if I have time, probably wont hit a thing though!

I love plinking at long range.
