It's time for a new spotting scope but I have been reading about some people ditching the spotting scopes for the cameras...
Maybe not ditching them totally but for longer range the talk seems to be cameras.
Who here is using the long shot target camera system?

In particular the Ranger + 1000 yard version.
Does anyone have experience with this model and can you get a legit 1000 yards from this if the line of sight not impeded.?

Any thoughts on this or any other camera systems I welcome.

Thank you...

If I did more fixed distance shooting, I would be using something like this or Shot Marker, and systems like it.
A acoustic target setup, that more F-Class ranges are using.

The Long Shot is more versatile, in that it is more compact and easier to move around.

My buddy has the Long Shot Ranger+ and has used it to spot hits on targets to 1390 yards.

Thank you for the reply!
Have you experienced it with him?
Did you like it?

Fairly user friendly?

I've used it, but only at 100 yards. Works well. He's got an ipad sized thing (not sure if it's an ipad) pretty much dedicated to it. Takes a moment or two to establish connectivity between the two, but mostly it's just a matter of giving the camera and the ipad a little time to communicate. After that it works fine. Easy to spot the shots which is good because most of my rifles have pretty low powered scopes and bullet holes can be difficult for me to see without a scope or his camera system.
