M70 Featherweight 280 Rem

Wow! That is a great price. Mine shoots lights out, and the one I had previous to my current rifle shot exceptionally well, also. I am so tempted to finagle a way to secure that rifle. Another .280 would not hurt my feelings. David, where are you? Here's your chance! Scotty, you need a .280 to challenge your 7mmWSM.

I'm here Mike, but I've set my heart on a controlled round feed like the CRF Model 70's, Ruger Hawkeye Sporter, or something similar. That is a nice looking rifle though and would probably shoot great.

Are you certain this is not the CRF? I've had both, and the one I have now is CRF.

I might have to call or check closer. From the photo it does not appear to be, but that's a great price and maybe I should call. Thanks.

FWIW, my first Model 70 was a push feed .280; it was scary accurate with 150 grain bullets. I'm not certain I was justified in divesting myself of that rifle (I exchanged it for insulating my house); however, I did pick up the CRF .280 within a couple of months of watching the other go down the road.

Mike I e-mailed them and it's a push-feed. I got my heart set on a CRF Winchester or a Ruger Hawkeye with the CRF also. Thanks so much for all your help.

Scotty,

That 280 Rem would be perfect for you, right smack between the 7x57 Mauser and the 7mm WSM.
Life is good with a 280 Rem.

Yeah, I think if I were stateside, I would get it Jim. Not being in the states, it is too much of a pain to mess with. It is a great price and the Push Feed part doesn't bother me a bit with a 280. Should it be a 338 or something like that, well, I would want a CRF, but I have had excellent luck with the Winchester PF's.

Scotty,

You could always have it sent to my house. I will have it all set and ready to go in no time.

That is the one thing I do not have is a shortage of friends to receive rifles for me!

I am a blessed man when it comes to that!

It is a sharp little rig. I almost thought about getting it for my wife as she voiced a little more desire to really put in some more time hunting this year. I don't know if it would get much better for her... I like the 280 Rem a bunch.

I guarantee that if I were in the States, that rifle would be mine as quickly as I could phone in my CC#.

Scotty,

Get it for your wife. Its shoots flatter than her 308 Win, same recoil and you have a mess of 7mm bullets.
Remember, this is all about her, not you.
You will be her hero.

Well, there are some out there. The pressure is mounting for David.
You aren't kidding there. I just need to come up with the $$$ at the same time I find "the one". :)

Scotty,

I looked really hard at this one last week before I posted the link to you boys

I am really torn not to get it... but I have a pre64 on the line right now from an original owner who has put only 2 boxes through it....

Stay tuned.

I think you are in a great spot! It would be easier if we could just get both!

Man, that is dangerous!

Did you get that 280 yet? Just wondering what you were waiting for?
