Well guys, UPS finally reared its ugly head and dropped off my package including the EGW base, 7WSM brass and Redding Dies.

Rail went on very nicely. I already had the Leupold PRW Low rings on the Minox, so I stuck with them. All in all, I think it looks pretty nice. Sorry for the crappy pictures, it is getting dark up here. Now, I am off to start some loads up for this 7, just go get it broke in and see what it thinks of 175's. Scotty

I believe that'll do. Maybe you want to send it up north so it can be broken in properly?

It does need a good trigger job Mike! Maybe you could send me your 300WSM until you are done with my 7! Scotty

Shipping is cheaper this direction than it is that direction! It does look right smart. The scope will be a joy to us and I surely do like that cartridge.

Scotty

Looks great buddy.
Get some rounds loaded and get out for a test drive.

Model 70 is easier to adjust or work on. Get the Dremmel and start polishing the sear.

Scotty,

Great looking rifle. Nothing like a Winchester model 70. I have the same rifle in a featherweight.
My 7 WSM shoots great. I threw together some 140 partitions to break it in and it shot 3/4 groups. I would like to try something heavier. I am going to watch your load developement. I have had the gun for at least 5 years and have not taken it hunting

The cartridge is too good not to be used in the field. My observation is that animals drop as if they were hit with the hammer of Thor. Sometimes, you can even pull the trigger!

I cant believe I admitted that fact. I need to finish some old projects before iI start new ones. It is sad.

DF, I could really use some pointers on adjusting the trigger. It feels clean but lawyer heavy!

Bryan, I am planning on running some 175's in this rifle. Mike has sent me some excellent data that shows 2900's pretty easily with H1000, Magpro, RL25, RL22 and Retumbo. I am going to try Retumbo first and then if that doesn't pan out, RL25 will get the next shot. DF's results with it have been pretty awesome to me. Scotty

You know my trigger could use some work too. 175 gr bullet @ 2900 fps will be a big hammer. I need to work with this rifle. I have been hunting with synthetic rifles too much lately. :?

Great looking rifle Scotty! 8) Now you have to just understand who is saying this and what I am about to say, but oh man those 160 gr. Accubonds! :p

Can't wait to see her shot. I think tomorrow my son and I are going to have to go to the range before it gets up into the 75 degree range later on when it's just too darn hot to shoot  and try that rifle of his out also!

Show us the pictures! In the light, we need to see light son! :p :p

Nice!!! Scotty, you and the others have got me interested in those Minox scopes. In fact, I'm really liking the looks of the 2-10 ZA5 at Cameraland for my .280!

By the way, how high does the EGW rail sit above the action. I've thought about one, especially on my Ruger's, but I don't know how comfortable they are or if it would make my scope sit too high for me. I've always heard its best to keep the scope down as low as possible.

Looks good to me! Model 70 triggers are extremely easy to adjust. Probably the easiest to do. There is only one adjustment screw in the rear of the housing. Loosen the two nuts, adjust the screw then tighten the one nut onto the other. Test the safety and check for slam fire. Close the bolt and drop it on its heel a couple times each time checking to make sure it stays cocked. Then slam the bolt home forcefully a couple times and if it stays cocked, not fired, you are good to go. If so, just adjust the screw a quarter turn at a time until it is "safe". The drop and slam method works on all bolt guns btw.

I can't wait to get my hands on this rifle Sunday! I have always had an interest in the 7mm mags. Retumbo and the 175s will work! Have faith in Retumbo Scotty.

Should have it out on the range tomorrow to try it out some. Going to try and lighten the trigger a little today in order to make it a little more bench friendly.

Love the Minox Fotis. I can't say enough good about them. I am seriously looking at the 2-10 Minox that is being sold at Camerland. Scotty

Thanks YS- I am going to give it a whirl this morning. Scotty
