My gun safe is getting crowded and was brain storming on how to get more space since I'm getting a new rifle built, should be less than a month out. I removed all the rifles, removed all the bolts, and labeled individual ziplock sandwich bags and labeled them for each rifle. Placed the bolts in individual bags, and strapped them to the inside door of the safe. Placed the rifles, without the bolts, back in the safe and I was able to get some more gun space for extra rifles. Before going to the range, I need to remind myself to take the bolts with me. I once went to the range and unzipped my gun case and realized I left the bolt at home.

How did the gun shoot that day? LOL

Buy another safe, then you will have room for more than just one more ;)

Where I live we have to store our firearms without the bolt in and stored in a separate lockable space. I put mine in labelled calico bags so the risk of moisture accumulation would be reduced. It is pretty humid in parts of Australia

I gave two guns last fall to my son and grandson more for them to have than making room in the safe. Somehow that empty space has been filled with a Browning Citori 12 ga which I thought I'd never own another 12ga and the 243 Win I bought back which I thought I'd never own another 243. Never say never and so much for extra space.:ROFLMAO:

Talk about the bolt.. I have a story to tell on this one haha

My brother still lives in TX and I have moved off. We planned a hunting trip together for months, maybe close to a year... we called/text often talking about this trip, we were both super excited.
The time finally came, I flew in and met him at his house the night before. All of his stuff was already packed and in a corner by the garage. We loaded his truck the night before, got up at 4 am and made the 5 hour drive to where we were hunting. As we are unloading he says "oh no" and his face is ghost white.. he then tells me he forgot his bolt to the gun he brought... and he only brought the one gun. Talk about a sinking feeling.

Luckily my spare gun was a Christensen and standard bolt face. I offered to give him the gun as a whole, but he just wanted to borrow the bolt. It worked out in the end, and he got a decent 9 point with his gun and my bolt on that trip.
