Heard this on the radio the other morning where college students were asked what they thought about socialism and if they thought it a good or bad thing.

Everyone of them answered in a very similar fashion. Basically they were all for it because it meant "fairness" and they also thought that everyone should have a "standard of living". Some also said that redistribution of wealth was a great thing.

Then they were asked to give a definition of what socialism was............................. nothing............. not one of them had any clue what it meant or how successful/unsuccessful it has been.

Funny that the my parents' generation understood what it was and also understood how powerful freedom is.

Yeah my one granddaughter recently graduated from Albright college in PA and she has been pumped full of the socialist doctrine. It's amazing what they can do to a kid in four years.

I wish that when one of these young people rattled off all the things they want someone else to provide them they were then asked what was it they intended to give up? What was it they intended to provide? What tangible item would they contribute?

I'm pretty sure they would have a very confused look.

Albright is about 30 min from where I live.

PA cities are dark blue. Get out of them and it's generally pretty red.

Colleges and universities seem to be increasingly insulated from what the world outside them looks like.

I knew you lived close to it. It's a very Liberal arts college and doesn't support conservative ideas.
